The original project for Fox Valley memory was the creation of a digital version of the major local history resource The History of Outagamie County Wisconsin, by Thomas Ryan. This is available now in both a PDF version and a text version.

In the May 2003 LWV bulletin an article appeared, calling for League members to clean out their basements, closets, attics, etc., and donate any old League materials that they might have stored away to a permanent archival collection that would be established at the Appleton Public Library "in the next six months." League members worked hard over the next few years to organize the records that were collected, and to have them digitized.

The " Appleton Public Library Local History" collection, part of the State of Wisconsin Collection at the University of Wisconsin Digital Collections site includes several books that were digitized in both 2005 and 2006 through LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act) Grants awarded to the Appleton Public Library.

Selected local history resources includes four historical Outagamie County plat maps, five city directories from the late 1800s, two historic building surveys and two compilations of early pioneer biographies. There are also two historical overviews, one from Appleton's 75th Anniversary celebration in 1932, and one marking the 100 year period of 1857 - 1957.
